G1 Frozen on Boot Screen

Hi Everyone

I was following these instructions http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f...de-easy-11825/ to try and get root access to my phone but didn't get very far! I extracted RC8 (the right version for being in the UK I believe?) onto my sd card, restarted my phone, then went into the boot menu. However, it's now just totally stuck on the boot menu, tried holding down home + power to reset it and it won't respond at all. The screen says

DREA110 PVT 32B
HBOOT-0.95.0000
CPLD-4
RADIO-2.22.19... Ah it's just reset... Ok well I'm going to continue writing this as I don't know what I did wrong or how to fix it. I think it also said "serial0" on the boot screen, which was highlighted. I still doesn't appear to want to turn on, I started charging it and the red light is flashing in an unpredictable way. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

I hope I am not going to regret trying to root it! I am going on holiday soon, and just wanted the ability to underclock it if I was running low on battery.

you might have had a bad download or skipped something ....
i know 10000% that the guide i posted is good and very easy to follow ! it has very many satisfied g1ers , me being one of them

Ah, well I think I found what was wrong, the guide I read didn't say I had to format the SD card...

I tried following your instructions, but as I live in the UK I had to kind of follow other instructions too... I couldn't find great instructions for the UK and it's frozen again. This time I managed to install the OS, it said it was successful but it's now frozen on the splash screen again.

Is it safe to pull out the battery? And are there any good instructions out there for the UK?

Got fed up of waiting and removed battery, seems to be ok so will try continue with yr instructiobs

I used this root process and had some issues, i was wondering if anybody could help me out.

At first I down loaded the DREAIMG for the link both by phone then to my computer neither work. So I went the HTC support site, and loaded it to my card all went well. I got through the root but now…. Not sure what may have happened but, but when ever I try to load any update.zip file, it just goes to the t-mobile G! Screen pauses and then just re boots so I am not getting to load the updated radio or the custom build 1.5 cupcake.
What have I done wrong and how can I fix it so I can get back to cupcake. I was rooting from the t-mobile cupcake if that at all matters

Ok just had to redown load to the card through a card reader and not by mounting it. got everthing loaded now.

My g1 is already rooted, i just downloaded the newest update, then it restarted now it's stuck at the g1 screen, i tried restoring it and still at the g1 screen!!! What do i do
