I've. Been playing with the toddler lock app and noticed something very unusual. . If you press the screen with 2 fingers in the same time you get some weired feedback . You get lines , two circles , lines that turn into corners , lines that connect , etc . Also if you " draw " a line with two fingers on the screen you can steal the line from one finger with the other . Could someone else verify this ? Thank you :^)

Yes the G1 is multi-touch capable, but what you're seeing is just point averaging or one finger stealing focus from the other. You're not seeing anything that has anything to do with multi-touch. However the device is definitely capable of it. Just need to unlock the software for it.

Any touch device does that, it's not multitouch, your just confusing the OS.

But yes, the G1/Android is multitouch capable.

G1/Android is multi-touch capable.

The code for multi touch has been commented out, but I'm sure in the future they will enable it. As to how long that will be no one knows.

As others have posted, thats not true multi-touch. A "certain" device COUGH**iPhone*COUGH can track 5 fingers at once < thats multitouch

I think this was reported that it is capable of multitouch. I guess they found out that code in the OS that enabled multi touch was commented out. Hopefully in future releases they can enable this.
