To the lucky few who has received their G1's, could you please try inserting a SIM card from another GSM carrier than T-Mobile (if you have available, of course) and report back what the G1 says when you power it up?
I'm interested to know whether it will protest and say it's SIM locked to T-Mobile, or if it will accept it (but you won't be able to use other US 3G networks because the G1 hardware only is compatible with the T-Mobile (and European?) 3G frequencies...).
Thanks,
Christopher

The good news is that T-Mobile has said they will unlock it after 90 days =)
How cute... What is it?

Do exist customers of tmo also need to wait 90 days ??
or that is only to the Brand-New customer ??
I can request an unlock the day I get it I think the 90 days is only for new registrations..

And I'm sure if someone DOES get the unlock code they surely wouldn't post it here...would they?
