When I downloaded it, it downloaded as setup1.box and setup2.box, are you saying you converted this to an iso image? I tried using imgburn but it wouldn't pick it up.

I had to do the regular installation but I chose customer over upgrade which is supposed to not be a direct update to your current OS.

You don't. Win7 cannot be upgraded from XP. Just more evilness from Redmond, you'll either buy 7 or buy Vista to upgrade.
Of course, there are other ways to get it done, but Susan would kick my butt for mentioning it.

Who actually upgrades? I tend to reformat my HDD 2 or so times a year, so doing a fresh install is no biggie...

I've been playing with the win7 RC for a few months now... ::thumbs up:: it's worth upgrading imo

    Oh well...where's that Windows Toolkit?
I did a clean install today because when I tried to upgrade it said my version of windows could not be upgraded (Windows Vista Ultimate)
So it told me to hit the back button and select Custom Install, which was a clean install which left the "Windows Old" folder on my C: drive.

Check the screenshot for the people that think you "can't have ADB access running Windows 7!"

I seem to recall hearing that if Microsoft finds you aren't currently a student after giving this discount they will charge you the rest of the full price for the software.

It was on consumerist, I think.

    Just a thought.
