I did a clean install today because when I tried to upgrade it said my version of windows could not be upgraded (Windows Vista Ultimate)
So it told me to hit the back button and select Custom Install, which was a clean install which left the "Windows Old" folder on my C: drive.

Check the screenshot for the people that think you "can't have ADB access running Windows 7!"

I did a full upgrade from Windows Vista Ultimate x64 to Windows 7 Ultimate x64. ADB does work fine, however; I've found (at least on 64bit) that you need to install the drivers / remove the drives for the phone in order to do fastboot.

Unfortunately it doesn't work for us teachers who have .org from our district...We used to have .edu but switched 2 years ago...DAMN!
