Gmail Profile Pictures for Incoming Calls...

Does anyone know if the G1 - Android Phone will use your contact's Gmail/Gtalk Profile picture as the default incoming call image?

I would like to have images for all of my contacts but I feel weird asking people for them. It would be a nice feature and simple to do.

Just looked in the G1 User Manuel and couldn't find any info on this question.

The User Guide does state that you can choose an image for each of your contacts to display when they call. It says that if you don't choose an image, "a generic android image will be chosen for them."

Since our contact books are downloaded straight from Gmail, I think it would be at least a safe assumption that contacts with pictures in your Gmail Address Book will look the same on the G1.

Agreed.

Coders are or will be made cognizant of a need and a fix will be implemented to resolve it. perhaps something someone should start working on.

I would think that you'll have to use your own pictures, it would take a couple of seconds to load a google picture

hmmm, blending that 2D info scanning app with this, you could scan the code, snap the pic and create the contact. oh wait...who has a 2D scan for themselve on their biz card? LOL. But that would be cool

So I would have never noticed if I hadn't been on this site, but I'm pretty sure my ice cream has a 2D bar code on it.....if only I had my phone to try it out....
