    Default Google owns Android right?

Am I the only one who thought about buying stock in Google with the release of Android, and the significance it will have on the mobile phone market?

Android is open source... thats the whole point of all this! It is not about the G1 phone... its about an open source OS for phones (aka android)

ok end rant... so even though Android is open source its likely google is the copyright holder still.

Android itself will only have indirect effects on google's revenue, primarily by getting more exposure to google's services and advertising.

ya, but google itself has stock and this ought to increase its worth... and copy right are about intellectual property. other can use it, but goole owns the rights to it (basically). Your right on the last point. Yep, it will bring more users to google.
