Default Help, my G1 is spending all my money!

Ever since I started using my G1 it's been one huge money drain. This is because of the high prices for using the 3g net here in Norway. I pay 20 NOK ($2.86 , £ 1.88) per MB, which makes a huge bill for me.
So, until I get a subscription with unlimited data usage I need to stop all transmission from the phone, but I still want to use wifi though.

I've tried disabling everything in the Data synchronization settings, as well as disabling Data roaming, but it dosen't seem like it stops everything. Help?

Note that I'm not using T-mobile since I live in Norway.

Plus a second question: Do I pay anything for using GPS?

I visit norway alot, so hei, jeg forstår lite norsk lol.

I looking into the problem myself as norway is a very expensive place to visit. I found this article, but i think it no longer applies.

What is the cheapest unlimited package you have seen? as im looking for an unlimited data package too. As for the gps, you do pay for the streaming maps, i am hoping mapping software will be made avaliable soon so we can load maps onto the G1.

Im getting a bit frustrated with the lack of android support now, considering selling my mobile, and maybe coming back to android in the future.

i've modified the APN entry and set all the fields to erroneous values, i couldnt find any other way to disable edge/gprs for me. We don't have 3g yet. However, i think there's another way using the "power management" application in which you can enable/disable any feature in the phone, im not sure though

GPS is free apart from the maps but I have no idea why when you have disabled all the settings it still uses data, i'll look into it as there should be a way to completely stop it transferring data over your phone network. I know here in the UK the MMS messages come via an email type package and if your sending or receiving MMS then that might be where the cost is coming from .

Hva pokker's abonnement er det du har som tar så sinnsykt mye per MB da?
Jeg bruker OneCall på min G1 og der betaler man bare 99 øre per MB, eller man kan kjøpe "pakker" hvor man betaler 50 øre per MB.

(in english: What kinda subscription do you have that costs such an awful amount per MB?
I'm using OneCall on my G1 and there you pay only 0,094£ / 0,142$ per MB or just half that if you buy "packages" of MB.)

Oh, and BTW, download APNdroid to diable the APN so that you can't use EDGE/3G at all, therefore no MB usage...

And as said, GPS does not cost anything, it's the downloading of maps that cost.

If you use GPS cell tower triangulation, that would cost you money. So make sure you disable that and use satellite GPS only.

Maybe this will help... I have been "told" that the Driodsans Tweak (lite) app will do the trick. There is a APN deactivate selection. I'm in the states, so can't really test it.

Say, could one of you guys from Norway take a picture of the majestic Moose?

    I would really like a photo of a real live Moose . . .
