How to tell what version RC

I go settings->about phone and check under build number but it doesnt state a RC number. My g1 is unlocked if that helps...but the reason for this question is because i want to manually update the phone to RC33. thanks

How do you know when and if you are going to receive an update? has it been released for everyone or are they doing it by region?

You have an adp phone or the adp firmware running on your phone. Either you bought an android developer phone from google or you have flashed your phone with adp 1.0 firmware....

yeah i have a android developer phone...what does the adp 1.0 firmware mean? how would i go about updating it?

then rename update.zip
copy it to your sc card (make sure it is just update.zip not update.zip.zip

power off the phone

turn it on this way: hold home and power

hit alt and s

do i need to backup the stuff on my phone? is it going to erase the data on it?

I want to put the latest version of Android on my phone but I don't know where to look to see which one I currently have.

I'm not sure if I'm rooted either.
