Angry IM Clients logging out automatically?

I am a new G1 owner, but I do have a pretty good grasp when it comes to accessing/ modifying settings, etc, however, I haven't found anything pertaining to this particular issue. Is there any way to ensure that the G1 keeps me logged in to all the IM clients until I tell it otherwise? If not, should I be using an app or two to make sure this functions a I want it to?

    Thanks...

The default IM program is pretty awful at staying on. Is that what you were using? I would try out Meebo, Hello IM!, or AIMer. The first of the three works really well for me, but I hear that the latter two stay on for long/until you sign off as well.

Just got meebo.... wow what a difference! i've been using meebo on the pc for years, so it's quite familiar.. shame that the nicknames I've set for peeps isn't in there yet, but that's OK, I expect them to get it right in the future...

Meebo still logs me out; can't figure out why.

The only complaint I have about Meebo is I can't tell if someone's mobile or not. Hello IM! was missing that for awhile too, so hopefully Meebo adds it in an upcoming update.

I have been using AIMer and it seems to be great. Has some logging in issues sometimes where it takes a while to logg in but it stays logged in most of the day.

You'd probably better off with Hello IM . It does have a steep price tag but its pretty much worth it with updates quite often. It stays connected throughout the whole day, and allows you to setup nicknames right on the device.

The problem with Hello IM is the price given what you get. It's just AIM, which is free everywhere. I'd even prefer paying the same money for Meebo since you get multiple networks.

meebo has always been seamless on the PC for me. However, it fathoms me as to why they wouldn't have a hold for two seconds option under a screen name, and bring up details, block options, etc etc.. then it gives you the 'not on the first date treatment' it acts like it's gonna do something by highlighting when you long press a username, just to let you down and do nothing at all..

Same problem occuring with me. Its quite annoying plus it doesn't even notify me that I have been logged out just says logging in. I've tried several from the marketplace also and only one I had luck with is Hi AIM but haven't found a reliable yahoo client which is what I need in the first place.
I even went through the trouble of unrooting my phone because I thought the default IM worked better, oh well guess I'll just reroot when I get a chance.

Its really annoying since all these programs don't tell me I'm logged out until I click into them.
So far I've tried parlingo, meebo, default IM client, ebuddy im, and IM+ (which I got refunded my 4.95 for)
