have u deleted the browser cache to see if the memory jumps up?
Okay so I currently have 16 MB free on the phones internal memory. I have run the phone as low as 8 Megs, but dumped some useless apps. Never had a problem. Then today, I start getting "low on space" notifications in the notification bar. I clikc it, and it brings me to the default app manager menu, but I have 16 MB free, and then after a minute or two it disappears.
Any thoughts? I am running RC33 on t mobile, not rooted.
Thanks all.
Jason

root your phone then run apps from SD... problem solved.
T-Mobile Black G1
Rooted JFv1.42 RC33
All Apps, & Cache Moved To 8GB C6 SD Card
Putting your apps on your SD card via rooting will save you a ton of space. Although 95% of us don't have that many apps we use installed, typically it comes down to your browser cache or text messages being massive.
So clear those out and see what happens first, before you start to consider rooting the phone.
It's a shame the G1 just didn't come with more internal memory, but alas.
Given the lack of memory on the G1 is a common issue, you may well find that Google allow for apps/data/cache to be used from the SD card in later updates. Well, here's hoping anyway.
Yep clear the browser cache. I did it and the last time I did I had at least 10meg of additional memory. I'm not sure if there is a magic number, but at that current time I had 10meg or more space. Maybe if I had of let it go longer I might of had a larger number unless the G1 has a cache limit?
I've since rooted and moved my apps, but not my cache so I'll let the browser go a bit and see if it changes much.![]()

But yeah, when I wasn't rooted... don't download useless apps. Clear browser.
