I MAY HAVE messed my phone up because when switching from my blackberry to my g1 and mounting it to my pc, I saw that I still had a BlackBerry folder. So I took the pictures, music, and ringtones folder out of the BlackBerry folder and placed them where I thought necissary (the music into the my_music folder that was already on there, and empty. the pictures into the my_pix folder on there. I deleted the my-flix folder.. I have no need for videos on my g1.) and I deleted the empty BlackBerry folder. I made a new folder inside my pictures folder & Organized some things in there, and deleted a couple folders that I didnt need.. Dont remember the names of the folder or two though. I dont think they were that big of a deal. Well after unmounting my g1, I looked in the pictures folder to see if the organizing I did in there went through, and my pictures wont even come up now. None of them.. I havent checked my music yet.. Any way to fix this?
your g1 had folders for music and photos already?
you may need to take out what you want to save and reformat the sd for the g1. then make new folders one called photos another music and put the files back in there. i don't think its a file format issue, but it could be.
Go to your recycle bin (I assume u have 1 on ur compter) to get deleted folders/files.
At least u can recover those... then u can put them back on your phone if need be.

Use any of the file manager apps from the market (Android File manager, bender, glance), to see if the files are on your phone...

Can you look at your g1's folder after it's mounted & name off what folders you have in it? I have an SD card, so the dcim folder is going to be in there too. Uuuuuuuuughhhhh.
make sure there is nothing on the sdcard that you want first!!!!
very important you're basically erasing the memory card.
this is from my memory not at a computer right now.
plug phone via usb to computer, go to (on a pc) my computer and find the drive that represents the g1 (its usually a letter) right click it and click format.
afterwords go in add new folders and voila....
Its formatting right now.. What should I name the folders? Does it matter?
I would do:
photos (with another called dcim in it, i suspect that will keep the phone's camera photos with any photos you load onto it)
music (and you can do subfolders for bands or albums as you wish.
but I've been led to believe that it doesn't matter since the phone just reads the sd card for files and not folders.
