Short story: I have full multitouch scaling and panning working in specially-developed apps on a stock T-Mobile G1 Android phone with a change to just one system classfile (i.e. with no modifications to the kernel whatsoever).

Might I say I havent heard about this for a while. Finally very nice smooth start type of demo. Now lets see what Devs could do with it, play around with it also. I just really love the zoom feature.

I remember at the Apple conference where they debuted the iPhone, Steve Jobs had mentioned that they patented the hell out of multi-touch.

Yea makes no sense to me...the palm pre and the BB storm both have multi touch (so ive read) so i dunno about the legal issue.
