Hi Friends,
If you are excited about android.... there must be some features that you wanted (no matter how silly that feature is for others) that your present phone (or other phones in the market) just doesn't deliver.... If enough of you voice your opinion there may be some developers out there who are listening to you & who can fulfill your wish since Android is open source.... (that's the main adv of android isn't it?)
So here is a list of my desired features.....
- Smooth & seamless integration between different phone functions (call, messaging, location, alarm clock, ToDo etc...) one eg. is....setting the time & date for a message & it gets automatically sent at that time...
- Creation of dynamic music playlist.... for eg, we enter the parameters like Artist: Beatles...... Genre: any.......... Rating: *** or more.......... and the media player comes up with a playlist with these criteria and also automatically updates this playlist as and when we update songs in our library.... a lot better than Genius playlist... if you want songs from more than 1 artist then you can open another artist category & enter Bob Dylan... Then playlist will include all songs from Beatles & Dylan which are rated *** and above.. Users of MediaMonkey know what i mean here....
- Games....lots & lots of quality games!
- ability to block calls from certain contacts during specified time period.
- Copy and paste...(yes, it is important.. silly!)
- Playback of video of any format... something like VLC player for android...
- torrent downloadson the phone (am i asking too much
)
- Password encryption for private folders...
- Google Office suite with Gears for offline work....
- PDF reader
So chip in & tell the world what you want your android phone to do for you....

Phone: ·T···Mobile· HTC - Sensation 4G (Rooted)
ROM: Stock Android 2.3.3
Here is my wish list:
- good pictures quality camera (which is already there)
- good video recording for high quality YouTube clips
- at least 1GB internal memory for all programs I will be installing (then I will get additional card as well
- very responsive touchscreen (I just have to wait and see)
- ALL media player (I agree with something like VLC Player)
- App that will make simple playlist - not like stupid ipods - click 1564 times to get to one of your favorite songs... Put the folder into the playlist - play from there and that's it... simple and easy...
- Very good customizable Navigation Maps to put the GPS unit in work whenever needed
More or less all applications will be included on the Android sooner or later... I guess I am not very demanding customer
PS. We can ask for FM Transmitter so we can play our Android phone sounds on our FM Stereo in our cars... that would be pretty much used as Bluetooth handsfree as well ... can you imagine - cars not having bluetooth option but G1 having the FM transmitter which serves the same need - handsfree... the only thing is making the microphone more responsive and better distance quality... which I think is good...

T-Mobile US Stock Rom & Android Froyo 2.2 FRG33 (mccm); LinPack 38MP; Quadrant 1750
Thats a good list. As far as the Torrent download goes, I think the iphone has that but its a major battery killer lol.
My thing I would like to add is an anti theft app similar to the one on Symbian. If lets say someone stole phone, you can text a special code to that phone that will automaticly lock the phone out. If they try to install a new sim, the app will send you a text telling you the new sim #.

I am hoping they will be able to write the app where you are going to be able to track down your phone using the tracking of the GPS signal in your phone you register with the let's say some kind of company...
Than - you will not need the number but print out all hard copy evidence - go to police and get your phone back... or you can deal with it your own way

Yep...this anti-theft stuff is #1 for me, too. Just some kind of code you could send to the phone online or via SMS or something that puts it into "lojack" mode: Sending you constant info about where it is, constantly logging its whereabouts via GPS, keystrokes, numbers being called, hell even uploading voice recordings. A TOTAL spy software, running entirely unknown to the user. Security-wise, it would be accessible only to you through a secure site you have set up with a trusted provider, and would only be activated when you say so.
