They will after people vote with their wallets and say no thanks. That's a real disappointment. If they are going to sell it for over $500, there damned sure better not be any ads shown when I use the browser. For that kind of money I'll buy an N900 instead.

I understand the unsubsidized price. but i don't understand the subsidized but only with that plan, price? That's just stupid... unless their plan is to try and keep their longest running customers from having the best phone...

agree that is just stupid, if i were a 7 yr or more costumer id be pissed off! the phone does make sense with the price on no contract, the things got a freaking 1ghz proc. and most crappy phones are still gwop, but people are just going to fleed towards other companies with kick ass androids, theyll be other crazy android stuff coming out soon

i just called tmo to check if i was qualified to receive an upgrade in january. i told the rep that i was interested in buying a new phone in january. she asked me which one and i replied with an it hasnt been released yet. she paused, then said the google android phone. i said yea so she checked. i got my g1 during preorder on oct 10th 2008. she said that id qualify fo a full upgrade on in july of 2010. my upgrade price in january for that google android phone would be $299. i still qualified for a partial upgrade.

I think my full upgrade is in july also. so that would put me in the 299 camp also...

I have to say, overall as far as physical hardware is concerned i've been very happy with htc. The only problem i've experienced is my space bar on the keyboard after a year and a third is slightly less responsive. that's it... besides a few user caused issues.

I've been extremely happy with tmobile on the whole, and my area has 3g now.

And that equals, i'm willing to pay 299 for the phone... hmm think i'll be ordering a new phone next week

Unless, they require me to change my plan. Not changing to some lesser plan.
