Sounds to me like you don't actually have Cupcake.
I haven't been able to utilize my home screen widgets for calendar or music player. Ionly have 3 options for widgets in my widget menu. 1. Picture frame 2. Search 3. Clock. If anyone knows what I shoudl or could do, I would really appreciate it. I have been waiting for this update for a long time as many of you have. Ilm actually kind of bummed out that I did not receive the full benefits of Cupcake. Please help. Thanks.

Still dont have your cupcake update yet and you don't wanna root your phone? Well HERE you go, im attaching the link to download the cupcake update file and simple instruction for you to install it on your phone. i did it, took like 5 mins. VERY SIMPLE

1. Rename the archive to update
2. Copy the file to the SD Card.
Note : Connect the phone to desktop and then transfer the file. Don't take out the SD card and use the card reader.
3. Turn off the phone. Press and hold HOME and POWER button. The phone will start in recovery mode. You should see an exclaimation sign when it starts.

4. Press Alt + L, it will take you to the boot menu,

5. Press Alt + S, to start the update process. It will take a while so be patient.

6. When the update completes, it will prompt you to press HOME + BACK to reboot.

7 . After you reboot, the update will finalize and automatically reboot.

No, I definitley have Cupcake. I loaded it when I was promptes to download it on Monday. I have all of the luxuries that were promised except the widgets. When I turn the phone off then on, I see the new android logo in silver. I'm sure I have it. I wonder if the skins that I am using could be affecting the widgets, but I pretty sure they are updated versions for cupcake. Brb. Going to check, it just dawned on me.
