Default Official HTC Headset Adapter Released at T-Mobile Stores

After work today I went to T-Mobile to get a new case for my G1. Well sitting up at the register was the Official Headset Adapter. It sells for $9.99. I asked the sales person there when did they get this he said they just came out today. Well for anyone who pre-ordered and got the crappy headphones, you can now buy the adapter. I can't believe how good the audio quality is from the G1 using a good pair of headphones. I attached pictures.

This adapter allows you to plug in a 3.5mm headphone into it. It also includes a microphone and a button to answer calls.

I went in to my local T-mo store and told them that the new G1's were shipping with adapters and one didnt come in my box. He went to the back and handed me one.

Customer Service or disinterested sales attendant? i dunno, but i got my cable, and i have to agree, G1 puts out some quality sound... now if only i could stop misplacing that stupid adapter...

That's the one that came with my White G1, I liked the one with my black G1 better... this one is way too long for any kind of good. I mean, i put my headphones in it and the mic is at my waist.

yeah im not a fan of that long cable... obviously the point of this is to use it with aftermarket headphones, which have their own cords.

maybe they want us to strap the phone to our thighs while we listen to music

^lol I was thinking the same thing.. Now I can tuck the phone in my boots.. Sweet! Though they sell short headphones just for that reason I found out. But still.. it's kinda weird.. I can't wait till everythings wireless.. and we all have bluetooth headsets installed in our brains.. wait.. nevermind.

Ha. Same here. The girl was just like, "Sure, let me check". She came right back and just gave it to me. I did this yesterday. I would have had to spend $10 today. Perfect timing.

Also agree, I have some JVC over-the-ear headphones and they sound just as good as with my iPod with my EQ the way I liked it. The Dark Knight on my G1 looks and sounds great.

The Dark Night is one of my favorite movies. Now for the original topic, my G1 came with the adapter and I'm glad that I didn't have to pay for it.

Just keep that plastic piece on the headphones to keep it bundled up to avoid the length of the headphones.
