Opera Mobile 9.5 for Android?

After having used Opera Mobile 9.5 on my HTC Touch Diamond I can say with confidence that it is a great browser. Mozilla has said that they are not writing an Android version of Firefox. That leaves only Opera or Google's own Chrome mobile as a possible alternatives to the Android browser.

So has anyone heard anything? And note I am not talking about Opera Mini, I am specifically hoping for Opera Mobile 9.5.

I like it. i used opera mini on my nokia 5300 (or tried) wouldnt work not to say it isnt good just wouldnt work for me.

i tried it on my blackberry curve as well and it ran slow (but so did everything else ont he curve) I have had 8 phones inthe last 2 years and been through over 20 in total and thus far this phone is bar far the most advanced phone i have used to date.

no lie it really almost makes me feel better knowing i have this baby to help me through the day lol

Opera Mini being ported to Android is actually being worked on from what I seen... looking forward to that myself.

Are you aware of any links to information about it? How does it differ from the Android browser?

Meh. IMO, the Android Browser works fantastically. Better, in my experience, than Opera Mobile, Opera Mini, or Safari Mobile.

Mozilla is open source, so just because they won't port it to Android doesn't mean someone else won't. But yeah, personally I love the G1 browser.

Agreed!.. The browser on the phone works very well people are just way to eager to download crap. I had like 7 windows open and its true internet
