I imagine they would check the serial number. If you send them back one without a matching SN number, I don't think they'd be too happy. Could be wrong tho.
So i called costumer service about my issue (phone wouldn't turn on at all). And they said that no exchanges could be made at this time because of the popularity of the phone. So if your phone messes up within this month you're basically screwed until after November 10th because they're sold out.
My advice:
If your phone goes bad and can't be fixed and they tell you the same thing. Go to your local T-mobile store tomorrow to pick up a new G1 under a "new" phone line and ask for the family plan . You'll get the discounted price of $179 and just send the other phone back and get your refund.

This is just a solution if you don't want to wait another month or so for the new phone if it goes bad.
yeah that makes allot of sense, i'm just hoping i wont have that problem... i will be soooo pissed if i do! lol
wait, if you have to wait, they dont charge you, do they? because if they do, you need to hurt them
this is bull****
take care of the peeps that have paid all ready
yeah i do.
basically i'll have to BUY a new phone tomorrow and wait as long as 30 days to receive my refund from the broken phone after returning it.
BUT sense i haven't officially payed for it yet because i haven't been billed for it i might not see any charges for the broken phone at all
