    Default replaced phone rooting again

So, my phone got wet, and apparently I didn't let it get dry enough before I powered it back on. The screen/video died (but I can still access everything via adb. So, I got another phone. I've not yet rooted, but this phone is much faster than my previously rooted phone ever was running the few builds that I tried. Before I had cache and apps moved to SD (ext2).

What's the best way to retain the speed, but also get root? I think it may be moving apps, but not cache to SD. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts.

Keep the cache on the phone, but apps2ds is fine.

I would recomend Cyan 3.9.5. It is very fast with no lag. Apps2sd is automatic as long as you have ext2 or ext3. He has a new recovery console that does automatic nandroid backup and restore. Says it's experimental, but is very stable.

Actually, I went with Cyanogen's 3.6.8.1. It's great, fast, full featured, and seems to be working fine. I had ext2 on my SDCard. I did a wipe and install, and Cyanogen's ROM saw all of my apps. When it booted up, everything was already installed and even the Market showed my apps as installed. That's a nice plus.

I get to return the new phone and use my old phone. Apparently it just wasn't dry yet, I booted it up to transfer my old info and it's working fine.

The phone was completely submerged for a good 5-10 seconds.

Cyan has a new 3.9.7, it's listed as experimental but it's as stable as anything out there. Glad everything worked out for you.
