    if you take out the sdcard they should still be linked, if you reflash anything you would have to do them again.

    the exception may be lucidrem's updates, but i haven't used it so i can't speak with any experience on that.

    edit on the sdcard thing, it'll still work IF you keep or have the appropriate folders on it.

    "IT" being the root of your sd card.

    I have a G1 and I love the phone, however I really would like to "root" the phone. I've read posts on how to do it, but I am not tech savvy at all. I'm sure I would brick my phone. Is there an easy way to do it (easy being a relative term of course), or any suggestions for me out there. First time posting, would appreciate any feedback.

    read this, there is not a really easy way to root but we had help people to do it and here is a real example: http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f28/root-12709/
    is not that hard tho..

    White G1 with a REALLY hard to see keyboard on low light due to backlight (not any more! I have "dark keys" installed)
