Sim card may not let data service work!!!

hey all g1 lovers!!!! I JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT A SLIGHT PROBLEM I HAVE HAD WITH THE TMOBILE G1 DATA SERVICE... although i never post a thread i just wanted to keep everyone informed so you can all use your G1 with happiness and glee!! LOL... anywho .. i had AN OLD sim card which i have had for about almost 2 years, and my data service was working IN & OUT .. so it worked when it wanted too ..i called tmobile and since i am in a 3G area i had to get a NEW UPDATED sim card so i can use my data service with no problem.. turns out .. IT WORKED...so for the people that are having problems in a 3G area .. please go to a LOCAL **aCTUAL*** TMOBILE store ... and they will GLADLY give you a FREE ..yess FREE sim card to switch out .. and will AUTOMATICALLY move your contacts from yoru SIM in a matter of seconds ..
p.s.- make sure you call tmobile first to let them know the problem and the will put notes on your account just in case they dont give it to you for free..

Yeah i have to do the same, my 3G service comes and goes and AIM gave me a SIM card error. So im heading to my local T-Mobile store tomorrow.

SOME PEOPLE are getting sims inside the box but a HUGE MAJORITY! of tmobile customers are NOT getting the sim card into the box .. according to the customer rep at tmobile she said they have been having on going problems with this .....

i had an mda for almost 3 years . the g1 came and there was a new sim card in the box , so i loaded the new one in the g1 . it didnt work , i couldnt get a connection . so i put my old sim card in ( 4 years old by the way ) and i havent had any problems since . im a VERY happy g1 user !

I have had my sim card for almost 5 years and I have had no problems with it in the G1.

I had a new sim card in my box. I'm having some kind of issue to where I can't use any of the data features like youtube, browsing the net ect ect. Unless I'm connected to WiFi. :-/ I'm not in 3g area but I don't see why I shouldn't be able to surf I could on my old phone. I wonder if something is up with this sim card.

I had the error too and my sim card is 8 years old. I turned off the phone, took the sim out, put it back in, and it's worked fine since.
