it seems east coast t-mobile retail store managerse have already recieved their's, and west coast (where i live) are getting them today apparently...

so you may be able to go into a store and coax somebody to touch it

Yes you can downgrade as soon as it arrives. As far as I know it is working flawlessly on my G1 with just the standard t-mobile $19.99 data plan. And yes you will have to have a voice plan... but the thing I'm trying to explain is you wont have to have the $25 or $35 data plan... you can just the $20 one and it'll work just fine.

Great! Can you clarify the part where you have a family plan with unlimited text. Can I still get the $19.99 data plan and utilize my unlmtd texts through the fam plan? Thanks for your help
