    I'm not 100% sure, the only apps I've run are the ones from the market and I'm not even sure where those are stored or run from... they download so fast I can't even see how big a file they are lol

    wow, that fast huh?! well I remember when Vincent interviewed the guy from Google at the NY press conference he mentioned the apps were small.
    G1 is so good, they ought to make it a vitamin!

    I would say the codec issue is probably they key. Certainly for coreplayer for windows mobile they had a great deal of trouble with wmv files on account of the closed off nature of the wmplayer dlls. As for mpg, well its possible they didnt include a h.263 codec on account of the fact that h.264 is so much smaller and better quality and is also what youtube uses for its higher quality stuff. That being said adding a codec should be relatively painless.
