T-Mobile G1 or wait for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is such a cool phone and it will be out soon (I hope).

Should I wait for it or just get the G1 phone. My contract for T-Mobile ends on November 25, 2008.

The drawback for the XPERIA X1 is that it is so expensive.

From the spec, it seems X1 will work with Tmo's network. But after reading about X1, I'm not sure they're gonna rollout on Tmo anytime soon. I guess you can buy an unlocked one and use it on Tmo's 3G. But you're right X1 is $$$ > G1

What's more important to you here, software or hardware? The S.E.X. is a beautiful phone, BUT, I don't think it's worth having to deal with WM.

As someone who's coming off of a Moto Q and a XV6900, I am very happy with the G1 and will NEVER go back to WinMO. Android in its infancy still performs smoother for me.

If it was running Android, well i`m gonna have issues.

I am heading over to the T-mobile store now to get the G1 phone. Hopefully I won't regret it.

Still....there is a little voice in me telling that I may like the S.E.X or the Touch HD more. Well, there is always the option to switch to these phones when they actually come out and prove to be better than the G1.

Cannot wait forever or technology will just past you by while you turn old.

I love high res display so I can rip DVD movies and watch them on my phone when I have some time to waste.

I think you'll be happy with the G1. Also, high res for ripping dvds? DVDs are a 480i resolution, horrible quality. This screen is 320 and progressive scan, with a much higher definition due to the small size. I converted a 720p version of The Incredible Hulk to mp4 and it was extremely crisp and colorful.

I can't wait for a non-keyboard Android phone. I like a virtual keyboard better (I know, I'm probably one of the few ones...). I got used to the iPhone and now I miss the virtual keyboard.

I used Videora for iPhone. It uses the same 480x320 resolution.
