One of the reviews had mentioned you cannot charge and listen to music (and maybe even call?) at the same time.
This lets you use normal headphones, be connected to your PC for file transfers and charge all at once.
I think I see one in my future.
i would like to direct your attention here

Yup, this was a must buy for me seeing as I like to fall asleep listening to music. Hopefully it will work as advertised and let me charge and listen to music! I also bought the 3.5 mm converter to allow me to listen to music using my noise canceling headphones, spent under 20 for both of them! Can't wait to use them on my new G1!

I need the same thing, but with a mic as well, anyone?
I believe you would be able to plug the headphones/mic that the G1 comes in into the 11 pin adapter on the adapter itself (if that makes sense..) There are three ports on that adapter, a 3.5 mm, 11pin, and normal USB. The connector is 11 pin. So, plug the connector into your G1, plug your headphone/mic (that comes with the G1) and possibly charge via USB with your computer? As far as I know there is no 3.5mm that will transfer audio in, it is only audio out. Anybody correct me if I'm wrong.

From the link:
"The adapter has 2 ports which enables you to connect your phone to a charger and headset:
1. 11-pin mini USB port for connecting a hands-free headset
2. 5-pin mini USB port for connecting a charger or data sync cable "

I bought this one and it works really well and looks a lot better than the one you linked in my opinion, i tried it on my dash, and it lets me charge it while playing the music in my car.
