Thread: When can we expect another android powered phone?

Default When can we expect another android powered phone?

Hopefully the next one will be sleek and sexy like the iphone, and not like the current G1. Hopefully by the time it comes out, apps that utilize multi touch, good video apps, music apps, maybe some good emulators for GBA or SNES like the iphone has. I bought a G1, recieived it two days ago and I must say I am thoroughly dissappointed. Hopefully the next android powered device will have a bigger, better screen that is glass and heat sensitive (like the iphone), and lets hope by that time an update will come out that will utilize the accelerometer for the G1, I really hate having to open the keyboard (which isnt that great either) to access landscape view.
Even so, the accelerometer should be smooth to use, the current accelerometer lags a slight bit when switching views.

I am sorry to say T-Mobile will be getting my G1 back, but still have an eagerly android powered device awaiting fanboy.

    My two cents

Hopefully it will be for T-Mobile too, I would hate it if it was not.

I honestly don't understand that you want everything to be like the iphone. If you dislike the G1 it's cool but wanting everything else to be like the iphone, you might as well hop on over to AT&T and get yourself one. Also if you want to wait for another android powered phone you might have to wai til late q1 or q2 which is still a good 5-5-8 months from now.

A fanboy is also someone who sticks to it blindly disregarding everything that might be wrong with it and enjoy the features that are avaliable knowing that it will improve but you need patience.

Regarding the screen comment. It is to my knowledge made out of glass, made by the same company that created the iPhone's screen (if i remember correctly).

Also, I don't think I'd want a screen any bigger than this one. Seems pretty big to me. If you want bigger get a small pc tablet lol. jk. ...or an iphone.

Where do they get this "heat sensitive" thing from??? The Iphone and G1 both have capacitive touch screens which react the same way....to the touch of your finger. I have used both and to be honest I think as far as responsiveness they are about even. Ur other complaints are valid to some extent which is why I dont suggest the G1 to anyone who doesnt have the patience for it to evolve

I agree. I dont get why everyone wants the G1 to be like the iPhone. Personally I dont like the iPhone. I prefer the G1 over the iPhone any time. And no im not an iPhone hater.

Are you the kind of person that doesn't donate anything (code, money, time, hardware, bandwidth) back to the community? A technology welfare recipient?

Chill, just because I used the word doesnt mean you have to hop on my balls and make sure I meant it to the core definition. I dont want the G1 to be like the iphone, hell, with the android OS, it CANT be like the iphone. I just want some of the functionalities that th iphone has, that the G1 SHOULD HAVE.
For example - the G1 SHOULD have multi touch
The G1 SHOULD have the accelerometer working right off the bat
the G1 SHOULD have a BETTER accelerometer (this one lags on a couple of things when you are switching views)

I dont hate the G1, I'm just annoyed that it lacks a lot of functions that it could have easily.
