wifi stopped working

hi

Okay i was able to connect to wifi and install apps an browse etc. now from past 3-4 days, wifi is giving me trouble. it connects n dc, some times it has all bars but it refuse to browse or go to market place. I don't recall installing any new apps or anything. tried restarting but didn't work. I do have wifi fixer installed on it.

any one else had similar issue? I just don't understand why wifi sucks so much on G1

, where is the quality for price you pay for? This stupid thing have problem dc calls and receiving calls. this phone is Total junk so far the price....

I am thinking of rooting this phone, should i do it or no? quick list of benefits n disadvantages will be appreciated.

Rooting wont help, believe me ive tried everything. I was hoping cupcake will fix the problem, so i install the UK version last night, still nothing. ive had this problem since February and wifi has worked like 3 times , what really sucks is that i live out of the country and i dont have 3g to download APPs or anything else that requires internet access.

When the problem first started for me, i search everywhere for a solution, but it seemed like i was the only one with WIFI issues, now the numbers keep on increasing and the lucky ones are the ones that have Tmobile with warranty and just get a new phone. G1 with out internet access,petty much sucks.

I agree that for Price of the G1 it should have been a better Quality wifi hardware, not to mention heating issues with the battery aswell.

I love the OS but i dont think HTC did there part in providing a higher quality hardware. Ima wait and see which one of these upcoming Company with ANDROID i switch to.

I haven't had any issues connecting to my schools/my home wifi. and I know my home is setup securely.(WPA Encryption/Not broadcasting SSID) and it connects to both, on different stories.(I'm in basement, router is 1st floor.) School connection is what I was worried the most about honestly...but still I get a good connection and some apps that don't allow me to download through EDGE(aHome Lite) allowed me to download through my schools wifi.

Pros:
Everything

Cons:
No OTA updates, but it doesn't matter because you can go back to OEM RC29 and get OTA updates again if you wanted to.

um...i called up tmobile asking if they can replace the hardware...i wonder how many times you can replace the phone in a year..i am definitely going to have it replaced at least once...issue is that i would need the data plant to activate it

any idea what will be the prorated charge for an hour
