This might just be in my area but they seem like a bunch of incompetent people that really don't know what is going on.
this is the story, i am away for 4 days so if i am not home they are going to ship my phone back to t-mobile. If it was waiting until tomorrow or even 2 more days i would not care.
Saturday: I call and say i want to arrange a pick up, they say this can only be done after it has an arrival scan, I say ok I will call back.
Sunday: I call again just to verify I get the same thing. I plan on picking it up monday morning.
Monday: I call after it says arrival, they tell me i cannot arrange a pick until at least one attempt has been made. I am very calm and explain that the other person told me otherwise. Then I hang up go to work(Should have worked half day from home, my fault)
Delivery fails at 1:40 pm, I call and say, now can I arrange, they say sure I'll tell the shipping plac to call you within an hour and you can meet the driver, I think GREAT.
It's 4:45 and no call, At 5 o'clock I call telling her I really need it because it will get shipped back, to either let me change the address to my work or let me pick it up. She tells me I can meet the driver and i say ok, she tells me I have to wait an hour and they will call me back.
So this time they do, and I tell him I want to pick up. he says I had to request that before, this really really pissed me off considering I was calling since saturday. I tell him I want to meet the driver and he tells me they do not do that. He then says I have to go tomorrow because last pick up is at 5pm. I say i really can't because I will not be home and they will not leave it with a neighbor and they will not change my adress, he let me pick it up between 8 and 9pm and then i get to drive to boston. Hopefully I can concentrate on driving and not on my G1![]()
so you have your g1?

He said I can pick it up between 8 and 9pm after the trucks get back. Then me and a co-worker will drive to Boston. Needless to say he will be driving.
That's annoying, but UPS policy is to hold the package at your local hub for one week after the last delivery attempt. Sounds like your local hub was asleep at the switch and didn't respond as they should have to the 800#'s requests to contact you.
My job used to be contact customers like you to arrange things like evening meet-ups. Sounds like the OMSes didn't do their jobs.
I apologize for my former employer.

ups is just doing there job
yeah like I said I'm sure it was the local people and that UPS does not do business like this everywhere. I don't live in the best place of town and unfortunately the people(most) that work in most places around here really don't care. They are very lazy and not customer oriented at all. From UPS to the local wal-mart, my neighborhood is the worst place to go for customer service.
Everything was fast and I know it is my fault that i need all these accommodations but all I really wanted was everyone to know UPS policy and not bounce me around with mis-information.
Why are you complaining if you are still getting your phone 3 days before the official launch?
Think more positive than negative... that's what more people should be doing these days.
Yeah, I don't live in the best area either, and when I worked for UPS we covered some rough areas. The best advice for people afraid to miss their driver or not living some place when a package can be left with a signed note is to have it address to the local UPS hub where when they get it, they will immediately call you if your phone number is on it.
Not 100% convenient, but closer to 100% reliable when your driver is less than motivated
