Ok so i was wondering if there was a way to stop incoming text messages from numbers? I know you can stop the caller from calling you but was curious if you can stop the text messages as well?
Don't think so...
You can either go online to My Tmobile and look for the link somewhere on there or you can call T-Mobile CS and have them add individual numbers to a blocked list of message senders pertaining to your account. This is available due to the rising instances of spam texts being sent out.

I'm hoping your right Mikey.
I've actually had a person harrasing me through text messages for weeks.
I called T-mobile and they said that there was nothing they can do about it.
All my options were exhausted, and there was nothing I could do until wait for them to stop. Let us know Markus if anything arises.

How do you stop a specific caller from calling you?
I would like to see an application that would allow one to block specific numbers from calling or texting. I would even pay for such an application.
My wife had someone she didn't know harrassing her when we were with Verizon. I called Vzw and axed them if they could block that number from calling us, and they said they had no way to do that. All they could do was change her phone number, which is what we finally had to do.
I think the cell companies could easily block numbers, but they don't want to get into it, or program the option into the cell phones for various reasons, the main reason being, they want their customers to burn minutes, and if numbers are blocked, minutes are not being burned. This is the same reason that call waiting is free, of course -- so we burn minutes. We always call our carrier and have call waiting turned off, because we don't happen to like it.
I have a free-standing caller-ID unit that I have had for years that you can punch a button and put a number on a blocked call list. When that number calls again, the phone does ring once, but then the call is terminated and the caller gets a message that "the recipient is not accepting calls from this number".
Android Application Developers, please come up with a call and text blocking application!
I had this issue before as well I simply went in the contacts added there number in there and had the more info button come up and clicked send calls directly to voicemail. How do you stop a specific caller from calling you?
Yes please!! that would be really cool and useful for people like ourselves.Android Application Developers, please come up with a call and text blocking application!
And thank you to the replies already given and to answer mikey i tried to go to the one on Tmobile website but it said that feature wasn't available to me i guess because i have that darn flex pay![]()
And AndroidUser thank you as well i called Tmobile they said "If we were to stop a text message than we would have to stop the whole feature like the messaging service" i was like noooooooooooooooo way i can't go a day without texting haha
And constellation thanks to you![]()
Mikey that information is incorrect. The link you are referring to, is only to be able to block domain messages, like if you kept getting spam from @yahoo.com or something. And calling tmnobile customer care won't do you any better, they can't block individual numbers from phone calls much less text messaging.
Yes, although the only way you can do it is by getting a Tmobile FamilyTime Plan.
Then adding a feature called "family allowances" for about $2 more a month.
Aside from its regular features of:
"Family Allowances lets you set up monthly allowances for phone usage, minutes, messages, and downloads. It is easy to set and change limits straight from the Web."
You are able to block certain numbers from contacting you via voice and messaging.

As far as blocking text messages, the carriers won't block them because they make money on the delivery at a rate of about $1,700 USD per megabyte when it costs them nothing to actually deliver it.
A friend has T-mob and he didn't have a messaging plan but was receiving spam messages. T-mob said that he either had to live with it or get the $9.99 plan to basically pre-pay for spam.
Congress and the FTC have been talking about investigating the unreasonable cost of messaging so I would recommend that everyone contacts their congress critters and the FTC to get some action (if that's at all possible). One way to fix it is to only charge the sender for the message like they do outside of North America, but that might screw up a lot of valid messaging from businesses like receiving a PIN from your bank to log into their web site.
