Exclamation My Recent experience with Dell..

To start I'm not a fan of Dells Customer Service nor their Tech Department but I always order dell for my needs of a decent laptop.. Recently I ordered a laptop from their Dell Outlet store back in dec. when I got the laptop I check over the laptop to find that they sent me the wrong graphics card... here is what I basically ordered :

    17inch HD LCD
ATI Radeon 512mb x1400 Hyper Memory VIDEO CARD
160 Hard Drive with Free fall sensor
    2GB dual Mem
Intel Duo core with 2GHZ processor
    and etc..

After calling almost everday from work and being giving the run around all the time and dropped calls almost every other day I finally spoke to the supervisors.. They said it would take 15days to find a new one for me and a upgrade of 3GB mem.

So after calling and asking about my status and bit$hing a fit..

I got it 10days earlier and when I opened the box it wasn't a INSPIRON 9400 it was..

    A XPS M1730 Gaming Laptop -

    over 300GB Hard Drive
    4GB Dual Memory
    Gefore 8700 GT with 512mb
    and so many other goodies

I soo excited by this and they said that since I was given the wrong part and didnt have another laptop compatible that I got a free upgrade and considering I only paid $705 and this laptop is well over $1000 I am veryyy happy and the guys at my station are so pissed off and jealous..

    Thank You DELL !!

Just thought I tell you guys incase you are having the same problems with dell... it all works out in the end when you get a little dego on them..

Yeah, Dell is very generous. Probably why they're hanging on by the skin of their teeth

There customer service has improved over the years but it's still a lot of hoops to jump through sometimes. It took me 4 phone calls to request my Vista 64-bit discs for my XPS 1330.

Getting free stuff out of them is fairly easy too!

I've always been a huge Dell fan.. and when you have to go through their tiers of support on a near daily basis to get warranty parts for clients, you don't mind it so much anymore... thats an awesome deal on the gaming laptop - congrats!

I know for a fact that dell is doing better than by the skin of their teeth. And dell's first priority is always their customers.

I realize you have a different perspective as it looks like you are a Dell employee--I meant no offense--but I do read bidness pages, and being 50% off a 52-week high isn't good. Reorganizing isn't great, but maybe you know better than the New York Times.

We bought my mom a new desktop this Christmas. Well, we weren't home when DHL "supposedly" delivered it. They said they left it on the door step (what delivery company leaves a branded Dell box on a front doorstep? Anyways, we contacted Dell, cuz we suspected the DHL guy pocketed it, and they overnighted us a brand new desktop free of charge. Shipped UPS
