Wallpaper size?

Like others, I would like to start creating wallpapers for my new G1 before I even get it, but being as Android has that cool triple screen, I don't know the exact dimensions used for a single wallpaper (and single screen x3 wouldn't work as there's some bleed over from each screen).

Does anyone know the wallpaper dimensions?

Very good question. I'll look it up right now.

EDIT: Page 23/24 of the G1 User Manual explains how to choose a picture from your memory card or picture you just took. It also explains that it has a built in cropping tool to let you choose what is displayed, but it doesn't say what size the wallpaper will run end-to-end.

Just spent a few mins with the emulator from the SDK and the print screen button and photoshop.

Looks like viewable dimensions are 640 x 455 but you'll likely just want to make the images 640 x 480 (depending on how it aligns the images).

There's a 50% overlap between the views.
